Andrew Kudin is a Ukrainian writer
and publicist, author of a number of books and articles. He graduated
from the Kiev University in 1989 and became a Doctor of Philosophy
in 1995.
Andrew Kudin has always criticized
the existing political regime in Ukraine. In the fall of 1997 without
any accusation or proper legal proceedings he was arrested and put
to jail. However, at the demand of the public the authorities had
to admit the unlawful actions of the law enforcement bodies and
release the writer.
In his book How to Survive in Prison Andrew
Kudin shows the real face of the Ukrainian regime that claims
to be democratic. The author poses serious questions like How
come the population of Ukraine has decreased by 3 million during
the first three years of president Kuchma’s office? A.
Kudin proves that the genocide against its own people is
part of the government’s policy and there is only one step left
to a new dictatorship in Ukraine.
How to Survive in Prison is also interesting
from a psychological point of view. It is the work of a writer in
full control of his material. He gives a psychological analysis
of the crime and motives of the people behind bars.
Andrew Kudin believes in Man and His high destination.
He is sure that everyone is able to walk his path with honor and
dignity.
